🥰 An Open Letter to All Our Followers 🥰

On Friday at 12.00 midday, we received the news that we were unable to carry out treatments on the facial area, which I think hit me harder than actually going into lockdown all those months ago. Mainly I think because lockdown was anticipated, but up until the government briefing we were all set to open fully and had everything in place and were excited to start doing ALL your favourite and much awaited treatments.

When the news was announced I think I went into a mini meltdown as it was totally unexpected and I was fully aware that this meant that the weeks of being fully booked was completely obliterated and once again I was going to have to cancel around 80% of those appointments.

I can honestly say I feel that the beauty industry has been let down as the government have no understanding of the mental health implications their decisions have on both clients, staff and salon owners. And to be truthful I don’t think they care, they just see us as people who do fluffy work to pretty people up.

But you all know that is not just the case. We answer your messages when we are closed, we offer an ear when you are down, we have attended your weddings as guests having done all your pre-wedding treatments, we know all about your families, we’ve comforted you when you’ve needed it and dried your tears (and given you a hug obviously).

As those of you know who have been into salon since we reopened I have worked hard to ensure we have all the correct PPE, in fact we have more than is quoted as required in the government guidelines. The work areas are cleaned and disinfected after every client and the whole salon is cleaned at the end of the day.

As a business we are already losing money by having to book out an extra 15 minutes between each client to sanitise as well as only being able to offer a reduced treatment menu. I have had to re furlough Chloe and continue to pay rent and all the bills (as I had to during lockdown), whilst reducing the hours we are open to give us a chance to continue to trade in the long term.

If pubs are allowed to stay open without any PPE or social distancing controls, why can’t we open fully with all our PPE and safety measures in place.

Please consider booking a treatment you haven’t had before, purchasing a gift voucher from us, visiting our online store to purchase some retail items or leaving us a like, comment or review on social media.

We do the job we do because we love our jobs and the interactions we have with our customers, to not be able to do that is soul destroying.
